2010 Season Details

Following last week's pre season meeting held at Manor Road Bowling Club, I am pleased to report the following details for members of the North Wirral Bowling League.

The Officers of the League remain as above, with the enthusiastic Andy Wainwright continuing his excellent work as Secretary / Treasurer.

North Wirral League Rules 2010

1)  Membership open to all Teams in the Bebington & District Bowling League, Birkenhead & Wirral Crown Green Bowling League and the Wallasey Crown Green Bowling Association.

2)  Players Starred for any First Division League Bowls are not allowed to play in the North Wirral League.

3)  All players must have a current British Crown Green Bowling Association Registration Number.

4)  The Annual Subscription per Team shall be decided at either the Annual General Meeting or the Pre Season Meeting. Fees for 2010 are £30 per Team.

5)  No Practice on green allowed before Cup Matches.

6)  Any Club wishing to resign from the League must do so, in writing, to the League Secretary, before January 1st, otherwise any such Club will have to pay the Subscription Fee for the ensuing season.

7)  Dress Code will apply on all Finals Days.

8)  The Financial Payout for success in the coming season will be : Division One Winners £100,   Runners Up £50

League And Cup Final Dates 2010

North Wirral Cup Final : Saturday August 7th 2010 at Manor Road Bowling Club, 12 Noon Start.

North Wirral League Division Two, Semi Finals and Final Day, Saturday August 28th 2010 at Manor Road Bowling Club, 12 Noon Start.

North Wirral League Division One, Semi Finals and Final Day, Saturday September 4th 2010 at Manor Road Bowling Club, 12 Noon Start.

Playing Format for Season 2010

All League and Cup Matches will be doubles (5 Pairs)

Division One will consist of: 1 Cheshire Cheese, 2 Manor Road. 3 Poulton, 4 Sacred Heart, 5 Grange, 6 Moreton Royal British Legion.

Division Two will consist of: 1 Liscard, 2 Bronze, 3 Upton Victory Hall, 4 Great Float, 5 Quarry Vikings, 6 Perch Rock.

Matches will be Home and Away, each team playing 10 matches, 5 Home and 5 Away.

The top four teams in each Division will go through to the respective Divisional Finals Day.

The bottom two teams in Division One will be liable for relegation to Division Two and the Top Two teams in Division Two will be promoted to Division One.

A Straight Knockout Cup Competition will consist of all 12 teams in the draw for this Handicap Competition.

In the case of a Division One Team drawing a Division One team, then the match will be off Scratch.

In the case of a Division Two Team drawing a Division Two team, then the match will be off Scratch.

In the case of a Division One Team drawing a Division Two team, then the Division Two team will receive a 10 shot start.
